Famille Lieubeau
Welcome into the Famille Lieubeau. Our story began in 1816 with Joseph Grégoire Lieubeau, a child abandoned in the porch of the Hôtel-Dieu hospital in Nantes and named after the “beau lieu” (meaning “beautiful place”) in which he was found. Today, the emblem of our winery is a child wearing a hat, as a symbol of our family’s history and nature.
Terroir
We are growers and winemakers in the Muscadet region, at the mouth of the Loire not far from the Atlantic, just south of Nantes and Brittany. Take a dive into our terroir!
Savoir-faire
We believe in diversity, which you will find at our estate in the vineyard bedrock, grape varieties and men and women that form our team. Our Muscadet Crus are organically grown.
Our wines
Our Cru Clisson, Château-Thébaud and Goulaine wines come from the historical and geographical heart of the Muscadet appellation area. These finely crafted dry white Loire wines are produced from exceptional plots and organically farmed old vines, using hand harvested grapes, natural yeasts and extended lees ageing. These iconic Muscadet are acclaimed by the press and served in some of the best restaurants in France and around the world.
Visiting Us
We are always glad to share the art de vivre of the Nantes wine region with visitors and host various events at the estate, like our Sommelières event, Family Harvest Day and the Millésimés en Muscadet event. Our winery in Château-Thébaud is open all year round on Mondays to Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for tastings and the purchase of our wines.
